It’s Hip To (micro)CHIP!

It's Hip to Chip website

The Laurie P. Andrews PAWS Center would like to invite pet owners to join us for It’s Hip To (micro)CHIP! on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 8AM – 11AM at The Lurie P. Andrews PAWS Center, 2451 N US Expressway 281, Edinburg Texas 78541, and microchip their pets for a reduced price of $12 per pet (cat/dog), with the first 50 pet microchips free of charge thanks to the support from Walker & Twenhafel LLP.

Each year, thousands of lost and abandoned animals are admitted to Palm Valley Animal Center; some never make it back home because they can’t be identified. Collar tags can break or become unreadable making it impossible to contact the pet’s family. To improve your pet’s chances of getting home fast and safe in case they go missing, microchipping is a great option. Microchipping offers pet owners the security and peace of mind that comes from permanent pet identification technology used to reunite you and your pet.

Top 4 Reasons to Microchip Your Pet:
-Permanent pet identification
-Best chance of recovering your pet
-Quick and painless procedure
-Lasts for your pet’s lifetime.

The goal of It’s Hip To (micro)CHIP! is to make pet microchipping accessible and to raise awareness of the thousands of family pets that are admitted to PVAC who are never reunited with their families due to unreliable and/or missing identification. Pet owners must present valid picture identification that includes current address and must be over 18 years of age. For the safety of everyone in attendance dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier. Pets must be in good health and a minimum of 3 months old to be microchipped, due to high demand we must limit one free microchip per family.
