9/16/15 Pets of the Week

Dez, Duke, Carol, Gala, Cupcake, Harley Quinn

Hello? Is there anybody out there? Well just in case you are, my name is Dez and I’m a 3 year old, male, Australian Shepherd Blend. I was found wondering the streets until Animal Control came and rescued me. I say rescued me because I am a deaf boy who has limited vision. I could only imagine what could have happened to me out on the streets all by myself. Needless to say he brought me here to Palm Valley Animal Center where is am now safe and hopefully I will find that special someone who will me adopt me and give me the care I am in need of. I walk great on a leash and stay right next to you. You may say I am a little clingy with whomever I’m with, but if you were in my situation, you would too. Don’t get me wrong, I can see a little bit, they believe I mostly see shades, so that is why I don’t walk into things and I know when someone is near. I was brought outside the other day by a great volunteer we have here and we walked for a bit and then we just sat down in the grass and just relaxed for a bit. If you’re looking for a pet who will be by your side and truly love you unconditional, I am the pet for you. Most of the other pets here don’t need to depend on someone as much as I do, but that’s what makes me special. I know there are people they call caregivers who need to be able to take care of someone. Who better than me?

DukeHello, how are you? Let, me tell you my name, well it’s Duke and I’m about 7 months old, male, and they say I’m a Chihuahua/Dachshund Blend. My face looks like a Chihuahua, but my body is longer than a Chihuahua’s so they believe I may have a little Dachshund. Let me tell you my story. I was brought to PVAC about 5 months ago when I was still a pup. If I remember correctly I was only about 2 months old. So I was brought up into adoptions at the end of April and after about a week and a half I was adopted out to a gentleman man who lives about 4 hours away from here. It’s crazy how I ended up back where I started from 5 months later. Either way the staff here did try numerous times to call my owner but had no luck. So here I am again back I adoptions. I too walk well on a leash and I play nice with other dogs I meet here. I am happy go lucky and when you approach me in my kennel I will lay down looking for you to pet me or give me a belly rub. Stop on by and check me out. I know I will find my second chance at my forever home with you.

CarolMy name’s Carol and I’m a 2 month old, female, Terrier Blend. Oops, I forgot to say hello. I’m just so excited they picked me to be a Pet of the Week. I was brought here with my 3 siblings who actually found their forever homes already. I’m like totally happy for them because it gives me hope that I’ll find my home soon. I’m also a big Facebook star. I was caught playing around in my kennel while at Petsmart in Edinburg and I got videotaped and put on to the Palm Valley group page. I do get a little vocal when I want to be held, but once you pick me up, I will snuggle in your arm and quiet down. I guess you could say I’m almost like a baby in that aspect. If you decide to swing by and don’t find me, please don’t just assume I had gotten adopted, ask about me. My offsite counselor loves to take me with her to all the Petco’s and Petsmart because I’m like totally such a joy. Hopefully I will see you sooner than later. Because if it’s later I may just have found my forever home by then.

GalaHey there everyone. My name is Gala and I’m a 1 year old, female, Domestic Shorthair Blend. When you come and visit with me, you will see, I am more like a dog than a cat. I will scratch up against the glass just like a dog does trying to get out of the house. The only difference is I’m just trying to get to you. I’m not an outside cat and neither are any of my friends here. We’ve heard too many sad stories about our friends who were let outside. So please, if you adopt me or any of our friends, make us strictly indoor cats. Who would want to go outside anyways? I like to play indoors and we don’t need to go out to go to the restroom. Giveme a little ball to play with, or one of those sticks with the rope and toy tied to it. We could have lots of fun playing with those toys. If there are no toys around, that’s fine too. Just crumble up a piece of paper and I will play with that too. I am super easy to please and I will make you the happiest adopter when you take me home with you today.

CupcakeAll righty then, I know last week everyone was asked if they like Candy. Well this week it’s do you all like cupcakes out there? If not, I’m sure Palm Valley has a cupcake that you will just love. How can I be so sure about it? That’s because I’m Cupcake and I’m a 3 month old, female, Domestic Shorthair Blend. I’m a super playful girl who really needs a home so I can run around in a bigger space than what I am in right now. Sure I can run around and jump and be silly in here, but could you imagine all the fun we could have together if I had the run of the house? We could play with toys together and maybe a laser light I could chase around. We can entertain each other all day long. Should you need to go to work or to school, what better than a kitty. We practically take care of ourselves so you wouldn’t have to worry about me. So, swing on by and pick up your cupcake today!

Harley QuinnOk, I know why I’m last, it’s because they always save the best for last. My name is Harley Quinn and I’m a British Shorthair Blend. You may be asking yourself what the difference between a British and Domestic Shorthair. Well it’s all in the face. I have pudgy cheeks that everyone wants to squeeze and my eyes are a little rounder than most. When I first found my way here I was a little nervous but with time and patience, I came around. Since I’m calmer now, they just moved me into adoptions Tuesday evening. Now I’m super loving, no more nervousness, and I come up to everyone to be held. I’m a curious kitten who likes to know what going on around me. Honestly, if it’s not my personality that grabs at you heart strings, it will be sure to be my adorable face.adopt dont shopAdoption fees include first series of shots; spay/neuter operation, microchip, and a month of pet insurance.
