7/15/15 Pet of the Week

Gunner, Laura, Billy Bob, Gandalf, Leah, & Hershey

What’s up everybody? Let me ask you something. Are you looking for a lifetime companion to share your world with? Maybe somebody who enjoys long walks or if you’re into fitness, maybe a run around the neighborhood? A big boy who does great with others? Well if so, I am the boy for you. My name is Gunner and I’m a 2 year old, male, Shepherd Blend. Not only do I enjoy physical activities, but I enjoy just kicking back, lying on the floor and watching a good movie or TV show. I am looking for a lifelong commitment because I was actually found about 6 months ago by a wonderful person who took care of me until he just couldn’t anymore. So on June 8th of this year he brought me here so I could hopefully find my forever family who will love me and care for me and just let me be part of a family. As much as he wanted to keep me and let me grow old with him, he just wasn’t able. So while I was here waiting patiently to make it up into adoptions I was introduced to play groups and got to run around and play with all the other boys and girls here. As much fun as that was, I was still missing something, and that something is you. So why not drop in and visit me for a bit. I bet it will be love at first sight. We could be the perfect couple once you adopt me today.

Hi there. My name is Laura and I’m a 1 year old, female, German Shepherd Blend. I am not as big as most German Shepherds are, but I can guarantee you that I probably have the biggest heart filled with so much love to share with you.  I too, just like all the boys and girl here was brought into the play groups and since I did really well, I got to be moved up into adoptions. What they look for is my compatibility with the others here, and how I do with people. I must say, I passed with flying colors. I walk wonderfully on a leash when brought outside, and I do tremendously well with children. Just to give you an idea of how well I do, there was the sweetest little boy who sat at my kennel door just petting me through the holes in the gate. I just laid there and enjoyed every moment he was there with me. All he kept telling his mom was this is the girl I want. Even though those words were sweet music to me ears, they eventually left and I was still here praying they would take me with them. As much as I loved the attention, I would love it even more if I were to go home with a family so I can feel that kind of love all the time. Just ask for me when you come by and my counselors will be more than happy to bring you to me and assist you with the adoption. Then we could leave here together and become the best friends we were meant to be.

Did you ever see anything as handsome as me? Not only do I have good looks, but I have a great personality too. They call me Billy Bob and I’m a 2 year old, male, Shih Tzu Blend. Honestly I believe I’m 100% Shih Tzu, but without a DNA test they have to call me a blend. Does it really matter though? Full blooded or not, I am just awesome. I also believe that I may have an owner somewhere out there who just hasn’t found me yet. How do I know this you may ask? Well it’s because I did great in playgroups, I love people, I had no problem sharing an apartment (as we like to call it) with about 4 other boys, and never once did I start an argument with them about sharing our food together. I came here on July 9th with a haircut already, even though one of the great volunteers gave me a quick bath and trim before I made it into adoptions. I did extremely well while she made me even more handsome. I could go on and on about how perfect I am but there just isn’t enough space in this article. You will just have to swing by and see for yourself, but don’t hesitate because I know I will be adopted out in no time.

Good morning. My name is Gandalf and I’m a 4 month old, male, Domestic Shorthair Blend. The way I ended up at Palm Valley is a little different than most. I was actually born here. My mom’s name is Gala and she is also available for adoption along with my 10 sibling. Once we were born, we were lucky enough to find a foster mom who would take care of us and our mother until we were big and strong enough to return to Palm Valley to find our forever homes. I know some of my brothers and sister have already found their homes. We are all loving, playful kittens who would love nothing more than to go home with you. When you look at me you will see I am not like the rest of my family. I only have half of a tail and this is how I was born. This could be a good thing as I won’t knock anything over when I am wagging my tail. Swing on by and ask about me and my family, you may just be the one to grant all of our wishes when you adopt toady.

Hello, hello, hello. That’s what you will hear from us when you come for a visit. My name is Leah, I’m the beautiful Calico in the middle, and the other 2 beautiful girls are my sisters (Jazz is the kitty to the right and Aria is the kitty to the left). We are all 2 months old, female, and Domestic Shorthair Blends. If you wanted to see an individual picture of us, be sure to visit our website at www.pvaconline.com. Not only will you be able to see our pictures, but you will be able to see every friend we have here that is looking for a home. We were all brought in by our owners because they are moving and unfortunately aren’t able to take us with them. Just like every kitty here we are super playful, loving, and looking for our new forever home. As much as we would like not to be separated, we all came to an agreement that if we were we wouldn’t be sad.  We just want to be able to grow up with our forever family and learn to play with toys and just be happy go lucky kittens like all of us deserve to be. Don’t be afraid to ask if you can hold us, because not only will that give you the opportunity to see how calm we are, but it will give us a sense of being loved again.

HERSHEYYou all must be thinking that this is the month for Guinea Pigs at Palm Valley, and you would be right. My name is Hershey and I’m a 3 month old, female Guinea Pig. In the previous articles over the past 2 weeks you were able to meet my friends (with no relation to me). I am also super pleased to say Lola has found her forever home. This gives me so much hope that I will find myself a forever family too. I am a very good girl, and once you catch me you can hold me with no problem. I say catch, because all of us Guinea Pigs like to play hard to get. I am very easily cared for and cleaning up after me is a breeze. Just let me run around on the floor, preferably in a playpen, and cleaning is simplified for you and I have the chance to get some exercise. Once you’re done we can play together on the floor for a bit before you place me back in my cage. I really am a great beginner pet for anyone who has never had the pleasure of having a pet before. Swing on by and don’t forget to ask about me in the exotic room.
